Fund Accountant Trainee/Graduate – Europe
Job Requirements
Fully understand all of the products accounted for by the derivatives support team, be able to explain the product definition and criteria for accounting.
Ensure all OTC derivatives have been identified and accounted for & reconciled correctly on the funds at each valuation point, Track and manage the lifecycle of complex derivatives products
Investigate and clear outstanding cash and asset breaks on a daily basis, escalate any concerns to management in a timely fashion.
Develop a deeper understanding of all the technical functions and processes within the team.
Ensure BNY Mellon and client standard procedures and controls are being adhered to on a daily basis.
Communicate any significant operational issues that arise to the Supervisor/Assistant Manager in a timely fashion.
Complete team allocation and monitor his/her tasks’ deadlines during the day
Qualification:
Third level qualification in business related discipline
Proficiency in using Microsoft packages particularly Excel. Knowledge of Visual Basic would be beneficial but not essential.
Very good level of English
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Communication skills
Organizational and planning skills
Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong clerical and keyboard skills with particular focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
Previous work experience 1-2 years (not essential).

2023 Full-time Graduate Program – Operations – Europe
The Operations Campus Analyst Program seeks to recruit and develop highly talented university graduates, from any academic field, that are eager to begin their careers within BNY Mellon’s Operations.

This two-year business immersion program embeds incoming analysts into our Operations teams, where they will learn first-hand about our core products, services, and workflows. Collateral Operations Analyst – UK, Europe
Responsibilities will include:
Provision of collateral and portfolio reconciliation support as outlined above to clients on a daily basis
Multitasking and prioritizing daily tasks and deliverables
Partnering with senior colleagues to identify, develop and implement process changes
Contributing to team objectives
Escalating issues timely and effectively
Qualifications:
We’re looking for process orientated, keen individuals who enjoy solving complex problems, performing reconciliations and looking for ways to make processes better. As well as advancing technical knowledge, we will also help grow specific derivative and collateral product knowledge.
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in high-pressure environment.
Preferred
1-3 years of total work experience.
Experience in reconciliations, trade processing, settlements and cash processing are all skills transferrable to this role. Limited derivative knowledge is not a barrier to entry as on the job product training will be available.
