Improvement Analyst / Health & Safety Higher Apprentice / Apprenticeship 2023

Length of apprenticeship: 2 years

Job Description:

We are recruiting for an Improvement Analyst Higher Apprentice to be based within the Health and Safety function located at our site in Port Talbot, South Wales. The position will report into the Systems and Capability Manager, who will support and contribute to the Department’s objective of improving Health and Safety performance within Tata Steel UK’s manufacturing operations. Additionally, an aspiration of zero harm is held within the business and this role will be key in supporting the drive towards this goal.

Work carried out will initially involve supporting and contributing to the implementation, development and continuous improvement of appropriate Health and Safety IT systems used for reporting, communication and management processes.

As the candidate progresses through the apprenticeship scheme, there will be an opportunity to take more of a lead in project management and setting the strategic direction of the business with regards to Health and Safety improvement strategy.

The Apprenticeship 2023

During your higher apprenticeship you will study towards an NVQ Level 3 in Business Improvements Techniques.

All our higher apprentice programmes commence in 4th September 2023.

The Candidate

To be considered for this apprenticeship you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English Language, Maths and Science) at Grades A* – C or level 4 – 9
AND
Have or be expected to achieve 3 A-levels at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications.

You will have a keen interest in the following:

Complex data analysis and problem-solving
Building relationships with a range of stakeholders and using influential skills to improve the Health and Safety performance within an industrial environment
Management of Health and Safety improvement projects
Driving and setting the strategic direction of the business with regards to Health and Safety strategy
