The week before, Amazon and Facebook parent company Meta both disclosed layoffs. Last week, Facebook cut 11,000 jobs, or 13% of its workforce. The corporation has never before in its history reduced its personnel, let alone on such a big scale. However, Mark Zukerberg made the decision to restructure cost-cutting efforts due to declining income and unfavourable macroeconomic conditions. Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, also let go of half of its 7,500 global employees, or 3,700 of them, claiming the need for the business to find new sources of income in order to “survive the impending economic crisis.”
