KPMG hires 800 freshers for digital push as Indian economy gradually recovers from Covid
KPMG India, one of the big four accountancy firms, has hired about 800 fresh graduates and post graduates at the first signs of recovery.
Large firms including PwC, Deloitte and EY too have seen a pickup in their hiring numbers as firms look to invest in digital transformation verticals.
“Nearly 60% of our fresher hires are in our consulting businesses, primarily digital and our core consulting offerings,” KPMG told ET. The hiring of freshers is over and above about 550 lateral or experienced hires the firm said. With increasing demand, we may look to continue with our investments in the fresh talent pool like previous years, the firm said.
The large consultancy firms that in all hires about 1,25,000 professionals in the country had been on the back foot due to Covid pandemic. Most large firms including the law firms had seen an impact on their cash flows as clients postponed projects and delayed payments.
