Hardware Engineering Intern, Summer 2025
Job Description:
As a Hardware Engineering intern, you will design, develop and deploy next generation consumer hardware such as Google’s consumer hardware silicon division (e.g., gChips) builds chips (e.g., SoCs and ASICs) optimized for Google consumer devices.
You will use creativity and a diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems.
Additionally, you will participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts.
Job Responsibilities
Work with the team to develop power and performance optimized chips.
Contribute to the design, verification and silicon implementation of chips.
Collaborate with local and remote teams in automating design flows.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with design concepts and computer hardware architecture.
Relevant Internship work, work experience, or personal project experience in Hardware or Electrical Engineering.
Preferred:
Currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: SoC/ASIC design, design verification, physical design, design for testability.
Experience with one of the scripting languages such as PERL, TCL or Python.
Experience with Verilog/HDL or System Verilog coding.
Experience with EDA tools and methodology like Lint, CDC, synthesis, formal equivalence or low power reduction techniques.

Software Engineering Intern, Summer 2025
Join us for a 10-12 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development, and community-building. The Software Engineering Internship program will give you an opportunity to work on computer science solutions, develop scalable, distributed software systems, and also collaborate on multitudes of smaller projects that have universal appeal.
Our engineers create, fix, extend, and scale code to keep it working against all the bad actors of the internet. You will work on software development projects to keep important business-critical systems up and running, from code-level troubleshooting of traffic anomalies to maintenance of services and monitoring/alerts to building automation infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
Research, create, and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google’s product offering.
Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning, and search technologies.
Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to large amounts of data and information.
Work and support a productive and innovative team with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Go, etc.).
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Preferred qualifications:
Currently in your penultimate year of study
Ability to work on projects related to mobile development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
Ability to showcase tech projects and participate in computer science-related extracurricular activities.
