We are seeking an intern in the Automation and Life Sciences group who will contribute to an ongoing project developing a microfluidic optical calorimetry platform for high-throughput screening of biochemical reactions aimed at revolutionizing the process of drug discovery. This individual will work as part of a team of scientists to support experimental efforts and conceptualize new ideas.

Job Description:
Identify, develop, and demonstrate a method for preparation of monodisperse TLC particles
Perform measurements of thermodynamic binding constants and reaction kinetics of biological reactions using droplet-based microfluidics, and conventional techniques.
Evaluate data using standard numerical techniques and scientific data analysis software (Python, MATLAB, Igor Pro).
Ability to prototype hardware to solve technical problems, including microfluidics components
Validate the method of Taylor-Aris dispersion for generating a concentration gradient in fluidic input lines
Qualification:
BS or MS degree in bioengineering/biophysics/biochemistry or similar
Ability to work on-site for several months; full-time; including lab work.
Experience with biochemistry, microfluidics, and fluorescence measurements is preferred.
Experience with programming and lab automation in LabVIEW/Python/MATLAB/C++/C# is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
