Desk Analyst – FX and EM (EM Macro)
Job Description:
Work closely with the EM Macro Structuring desk to develop analytical tool/strategies to identify market opportunities, price macro products, build trade analyzers and generate trade ideas
Perform portfolio MTM/Greeks analysis using Barclays historical marks and pricing models.
Enhance the in-house pricing tool to properly price complex structured FX/Rates products.
Developing on-desk spreadsheets and pricing tools to improve product innovation of the team
Prepare marketing materials, pitch books, term sheets, market update, product briefs etc., as required by the business
Involvement in trade analysis – historical back testing, scenario analysis, MTM sensitivity etc.
What we’re looking for:
Demonstrated ability in developing financial tools, ideally with Python programming knowledge
Must have suitable experience with demonstrable technical skills
High competency with MS Excel including VBA macros
Good coding skills with understanding of databases
Proficiency in presentation skill (MS Office Product Suite)
Excellent communication skills (oral/written) as the candidate will need to work directly and frequently with senior traders/sales/management
Flexible to work long hours, meet deadlines and be proactive
Ability to prioritize and manage large projects and take full ownership of assigned tasks
Aptitude for self-learning
Skills that will help you in the Role:
Knowledge of Python/R (Must)
Knowledge of Bloomberg/Reuters
Knowledge of derivatives and options theory as well as capital pricing/implications.
Structuring experience
Mathematics or engineering-based degree
