CityFibre – Apprentice
Primary responsibilities include:
(1) assisting CityFibre’s and Bechtel’s project Engineering, Construction and Project Controls teams in the review of CityFibre’s processes and the identification of potential improvements for the customer’s consideration. (2) supporting the development of these process and quality improvements to improve efficiency in the delivery of the scope.
Supports Bechtel’s Leads to manage the work in accordance with project and CityFibre procedures
Coordinates with engineering, construction, contracts, project controls, permitting and other site based resources on constructability issues and with third parties to ensure that the project deliverables fully comply with the scope definition
Performs work, generally within one discipline, which involves the interpretation or review of specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, equipment planning, estimating, scheduling or cost control.
Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
Contributes to Weekly Progress Reports
Supports Bechtel’s and CityFibre’s core objectives, including continuous improvement and scaling and mobilization across existing and new delivery areas and cities
Identify potential risks and issues, and provide effective technical solutions to mitigate these risks
Basic Qualifications
A recognized degree from an accredited college or university aligned to the function or on-going Apprenticeship Program
Desirable knowledge of design and construction of utility networks and/or large-scale infrastructure programmes occurring within the public domain
Knowledge of coordinating and managing activities and interactions with multiple stakeholders and/or permitting entities
Desirable knowledge and practical experience of industry / regulatory codes and standards and design criteria
Desirable Knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures
Desirable knowledge of administrative practices and skills negotiating with representatives of client and other organizational entities (including stakeholders)
Understanding of GIS tools
Willingness and ability to travel to and remain at offices or jobsites located across the U.K.
UK driving license preferred
