Combustion Systems Engineer

Job Description:

As a Combustions Systems Engineer you will provide, maintain and develop engineering services within Tata Steel UK. Our Combustion systems are defined as end-to-end systems from control and monitoring to the burner, including all electrical, electronic, mechanical and instrument systems.

You’ll be a key part as the Combustion System expert for the Manufacturing area assessing the capability of the process units and recommend ways to improve safety and maximise efficiency, whilst reducing baseline costs.

Qualification:

Engineering Degree with experience in the Steel and/or Tinplate industry

Knowledge of gas, air, electrical and instrumentation systems

Strong communications skills

Knowledge of Process Safety and Functional Safety and how they are applied to combustion systems

Good engineering, statistical, analytical and computing skills

Qualified to work on, maintain and modify gas & electrical systems.

Commercially gas trained

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – UK

Job Description:

The principal responsibilities of this role are to support operations teams by performing necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activity and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability, business objectives and productivity targets are maintained.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

Reporting and recording of maintenance and repair details for all work activities, using the appropriate maintenance management and IT systems

Utilising the planned maintenance system (Pirana), raising emerging work orders detailing non conformities observed and proposed corrective actions necessary to resolve issues

Support the Engineering team to determine root cause and measures appropriate to prevent reoccurrence

Ensuring clear and concise records are maintained in order trends can be determined and corrective actions identified

Qualification:

You will need to demonstrate a sound electrical background and proven track record.

The successful candidate will operate as part of a small team and should be fully conversant with current health & safety regulations.

Ideally you will have experience of electrical maintenance and fault finding within a heavy engineering / industrial environment, essential to the role is the ability to adapt to new equipment. You must be flexible, have a desire to learn and develop.
