Job Description:
Starting your career as a Production Management Engineer, you will work in one of our many plants, located in communities across Canada. There, you will participate in a fast-paced, hands-on plant management team as a supervisor of a production department or an engineering project with responsibilities for work process and supervision.

Principal Accountabilities:
Production Management Engineers begin their careers at Cargill in many different roles within our diverse businesses including: Agricultural Supply Chain North America, Cocoa and Chocolate, Deicing Technology, Global Edible Oil Solutions North America, Industrial Specialties, Protein, Salt, Starches and Sweeteners North America, and Texturizing Solutions.

• Production Management Engineers – Manage people, process, and input/product in a plant environment. They will be involved in day-to-day direct supervision of operators and production activities and participate in daily production management meetings. Engineers must be able to comprehend, administer, and manage all aspects of government regulations and Cargill compliance programs including environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and housekeeping. Production Management Engineers typically manage teams of production employees within the first two years of their careers and have responsibility for hiring, scheduling, motivating, and handling employee relation issues. They will also be involved in process optimization, equipment and process reliability, and may manage capital projects.

• Process / Project Engineers – Responsible for business case development, vendor selection, budget management, and project management responsibilities for major projects and improvements involving process optimization, safety, quality, infrastructure, and energy use. They have heavy involvement with various innovation processes, idea generation systems, and reliability centered design, and they help implement technical initiatives driven from global Process Development Groups, Centers of Excellence, and Research & Development.

• Reliability Engineers – Possess a blend of technical and process knowledge and apply that knowledge to increasing the plant’s process and equipment reliability. Reliability engineers are responsible for identifying waste and inefficiency and applying continuous improvement tools such as: Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S, and 5-Why

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural, biological systems, chemical, electrical, mechanical, mining, or other engineering discipline, graduating between December 2019 and August 2020
• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Willing and able to relocate
• Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually
• Strong communication skills – written and oral

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous plant, production, co-op, or intern experience preferred
• Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
