Application Engineer in Milan, Italy
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity in Milan for a dynamic Applications Engineer with fantastic customer service skills and a passion for engines.
You will join a team of engineers, providing technical support to a diverse variety of customers, managing the design and installation of diesel engines and the relevant sub systems.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Development of technical specifications for our customers’ vehicles, implementing new design configurations and delivering high performance equipment and systems solutions in a variety of applications
Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to identify suitable products and solutions for the customer.
Engage your engineering expertise in the areas of product selection, design and integration that will optimize engine performance
Investigate integration and installation problems, recommending appropriate action and owning problem resolution with the guidance of system experts within the team
Ensure installation quality by validating prototype machine performance and ensuring installations meet Cummins requirements.
Represent the customer during participation in new product development programs, design reviews and product change request processes
Qualifications
An engineering degree is preferred, but relevant work experience will be considered.
Hands on, practical engineering experience – preferably specialising in Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrate a tenacious personality and the ability to manage a high volume of customer needs at any one time.
Customer focused with a desire to build strong relationships and delivering customer – centric solutions.
Results driven, even under tough circumstances.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of the customer.
An analytical mind with the ability to interrogate data and from that come up with innovate solutions to potential problems.
Willingness to travel across Italy and some of Europe. (30 – 35% travel will be required)
English and Italian language skills are required.
