Software Developer in Test Intern

Participate in task definition and project estimation
Understand and analyze existing software
Provide input for technical manuals and user documentation as required
Design, implement, and execute automated tests (API, mobile and/or web apps)
Integrate test automation with CI/CD process (TeamCity, Jenkins, VSTS/Azure DevOps)
Collaborate with the team leads and developers to understand new functionality being delivered to ensure the validity of the test automation
Collaborate with other teams including Product Test and DevOps to maintain and grow test automation infrastructure
Investigate new technologies and tools, evaluate them for use in our products/tests
Assist with manual testing if/when necessary

Manual Testing
Write test cases based on requirements; run and review with the design team
Organize test cases into logical groupings that correspond to requirement groupings
Attend sprint-planning sessions
Attend Daily stand-ups
Test throughout the sprint
Meet with developers for short hand-off demonstrations
Attend sprint retrospectives
Document test cases
Write code or help in developing and automating simple test measurements, part of the web application or a workflow that is extremely repetitive, and build standalone exes that deploy to other engineering team members
Provide high-level testing from an end-user perspective
Engage the cross-functional team in product engagement activities such as Test-O-Ramas and other knowledge sharing sessions
Produce/review product documentation
Review test coverage plans and test cases for new technologies being incorporated into products
Collaborate with Product Test on how best to ensure that products function properly vis-à-vis accuracy of machine reliability data from sensors to processing to storage to analysis to recommended actions and reporting
Conduct tests for fundamental/specification validation
Participate in product and prototype testing at customer sites
Conduct implementation/unit test-testing integration of products

Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing, at minimum, a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution

Skills/Abilities for SDeT Intern:
Demonstrate high energy and drive in achieving results Passion for efficiency. Focusing on the product testing tasks that, if automated, would result in the most efficiency gaines Able to present technical presentations and project proposals in oral and written form
Some experience working with test automation software programs
Some knowledge about Agile product development methodologies
Some experience in white box testing preferred
Some knowledge with creating and organizing test cases, bug documentation and tracking (prefer Microsoft Azure DevOps)
University level familiarity and experience with test equipment use (signal generators, o’scopes, power supplies, etc.)
Knowledge of networks and servers
Software development experience using one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, JavaScript
Some experience with test automation software targeting web applications
Some experience with API testing
Some experience with web applications leveraging one or more of the following technologies: Angular, React, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, ASP.NET, WebSocket, SignalR (preferred)
Some experience in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle (preferred)
Experience designing and implementing test plans and scripts
Good interest in cyber-security topics
Some working knowledge of the following:
Microsoft Azure DevOps, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
Virtualization technologies-Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare
System monitoring and issue diagnosis
Scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
Microsoft SQL Server (preferred)
