Visiting Scientist Summer 2025 – United States
Job Responsibilities:
These non-permanent positions have been designed for a faculty member from a KCNSC-supported MSIPP, MCA, or consortium university or college to spend 10-12 weeks of summer at KCNSC to expand their research efforts and understanding of the KC campus activities.
The faculty member will work as part of a larger team of Scientists and Engineers to achieve the scope of work on one or more projects related to materials, electronics, or mechanical components.
Interface with internal organizations to resolve design, R&D, production, and acceptance issues,
Identify future technology focus areas,
Research and evaluate the relevant scientific literature in preparation for solving complex materials/component development problems,
Evaluate research results and make recommendations on a project’s forward path,
Draft reports, and prepare and deliver presentations on research results, as needed, to communicate progress and meet project milestones, and
Expand the existing project team knowledge base.
Qualification:
A Faculty position at a partnering MSIPP, MCA, or consortium university or college in academic year 2024/2025 in a Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar department
Ph.D. in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or similar
This position may require that a Non-Disclosure Agreement be signed, as well as other agreements regarding the ownership of any intellectual property that may be developed
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business

Project Engineer – Europe
Job Description:
We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team in Bucharest, Romania.
The purpose of the role is to implement engineering solutions, under supervision, for:
Process Control
Safety Instrumented Systems
Human Machine Interface
Hardware Design on industrial process automation projects in industries like: Oil & Gas, Refining,
Petrochemicals, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Specialty Chemicals, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
Executes work assignment under supervision at the appropriate standards and quality Control: DCS (C300 controller, Control Edge PLCs, HPM) implementation.
Safety: SIS (ESD, BMS, F&G) logic implementation using Safety Manager and Fail-Safe Controller.
HMI: Creation of HMI displays, HMI dynamic and static shapes / objects and faceplates, migration of displays from old releases to the new ones, etc.
Hardware: DCS, SIS, marshalling, PLC, Server, Network, System cabinet drawings, I/O allocation, System Architecture, Power and Heat calculation, loop drawings, etc..
Reports progress and technical problems and / or changes to project lead engineer or Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited College or University. Preferred specializations: Automation and Computers, Informatics, Mathematics, Electronics.

Semiconductor Design Trainee / Internship – Czech Republic/ Europe
You will be responsible for working on digital design using System Verilog, support activities as integration and testing. This is a hybrid role, 3 + 2 model.
Job Responsibilities:
ASIC/FPGA digital design & verification
Working with HDL languages (System Verilog, VHDL, Verilog)
Utilizing FPGA/SOC technologies – Microchip, AMD (XILINX), Intel, etc.
Supporting the team in the development of Safety/Mission critical digital systems for Avionics and & Space applications per DO-254 standard
Engaging with full ASIC/FPGA development process (from requirement definition, to design, verification, synthesis, STA, CDC, preparing technical documentation)

Qualifications
Current student in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or related.

The role is an entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in the design and/or project/process management projects, products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment under technical guidance Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
Supports the development of testing procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations.
Analyzes evaluation reports and discrepancies to make recommendations that improve productivity and quality to reduce flowtime.
Interacts as a team with design agencies, suppliers and/or internal organizations under the guidance from experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist in product realization.
Qualification:
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
