Data Scientist, Analytics
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and business products
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
- Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
- The Data Scientist Analytics role has work across the following four areas:
- Product Operations: Forecasting and setting product team goals, designing and evaluating experiments, monitoring key product metrics, understanding root causes of changes in metrics, building and analyzing dashboards and reports, building key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis, and evaluating and defining metrics
- Exploratory Analysis: proposing what to build in the next roadmap, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends, identifying new levers to help move key metric, and building models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems
- Product Leadership: influencing product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations, communicating state of business, experiment results, etc. to product teams and spreading best practices to analytics and product teams
- Data Infrastructure: working in Hadoop and Hive primarily, sometimes MySQL, Oracle, and Vertica, and automating analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL and Python based ETL framework
Salary: 208,070.99 to $224,000.00 per year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field and completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship. Completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship in each of the following:
- Machine learning techniques
- Relational database (SQL or PL*SQL)
- Developing in Python
- Statistical analysis using R and MATLAB
- Large scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, or MPI)
- Quantitative analysis techniques: clustering, regression, pattern recognition

Production Engineer
- Production Engineer Responsibilities
- Understand our backbone and data center networks along with our physical infrastructure to help automate new physical designs
- Design, build, manage and maintain tooling that tracks asset and enables us to deploy our physical network infrastructure
- Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events
- Analyze data to diagnose and identify issues in our fiber infrastructure
- Be an active participant in deep technical discussions
- Develop and maintain consistency within the network infrastructure
- Manage flow of information & requirements between network teams, tooling teams and infrastructure teams
Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
- Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience building software for network infrastructure
- 4+ years of experience with computer networks & developing automation and tools for network operations
- 4+ years of experience with UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar
- 4+ years of experience coding in at least one language (Python/Golang/Rust/C++ are all in use)
- Experience learning new concepts around network design and management
Preferred :
- Experience with Network Topology & Network Design
- Experience with Physical Infrastructure Network Design
- Experience with developing distributed systems and operating them at scale.
- MS or Graduate work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related
- technical discipline.

Research Scientist
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform research and develop solutions to computer software and computer hardware problems
- Research, design, and develop new optimization algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta’s platforms
- Design and implement large-scale distributed software systems to serve large numbers of complex requests simultaneously and without failure
- Utilize technical research background, train new ranking models, and run experiments
- Create tools for migrating large bodies of user data across systems for new products, scalability efforts, and development of new core infrastructure
- Use machine learning, statistics, or other data techniques to build algorithms
- Suggest, collect, and synthesize system requirements from stakeholders and create effective feature roadmaps
- Analyze and resolve computer challenges from a system engineering standpoint
- Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Software Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- Help build the next generation of systems behind Meta’s products, create web and/or mobile applications that reach over two billion people, and build high volume servers to support content
- ‘Harness passion for technology and graduate-level knowledge, and help build highly scalable performant solutions
- Develop graduate-level knowledge of algorithms and core computer science concepts and ability to apply that knowledge to real world systems with support and guidance from direct supervisor
With solutions provided by a supervisor utilize ability to apply them to production problems and contribute to architectural decisions - Employ specialty knowledge across the following areas: data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, and operating systems
- Utilize knowledge of data base management system software, development environment software, object oriented development software, program testing software, operating system software, and various programming languages
- Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming, and of systems architecture and components, including networking and storage
- Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the US

Qualifications:
