Trade Supervision, Associate, ISG Management – India

The ISG Central Risk team fulfils a front office advisory role as the first line of defence. The scope includes escalation, oversight, project execution, control ownership and is the default owner for many division-wide audit and regulatory issues.

Job Responsibilities

Reviewing internal policy breaches on a daily basis, investigate, educate and escalate as necessary
Trend and identify repeat behaviours and establish a process to address recurrence
Reviewing electronic communications and escalating where these are not in line with internal policies
Create management reports to highlight issues, trends, new regulatory changes etc.
Support BU projects to create, enhance or develop procedures/protocols.
Engaging with other regional RCG teams to focus on and deliver increased automation and standardization across applicable surveillance processes
Engaging with ISG contacts and other stakeholders to build awareness of Non- Financial Risk and RCG’s continued focus on proactive and effective surveillance and supervision
Drive discussion with relevant Risk and Compliance contacts to validate the existing review process and alert disposition logic
Help ensure that ISG activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory and Firm requirements
Partner with stakeholders to design and implement new reports to assist with the Firm keeping pace with the evolving Regulatory environment
Partner in projects related to improving the review process, reduce false positives or further enhance the report logic

Qualification:

Graduate/ Post Graduate in Commerce, Finance etc.
1-3 years with knowledge/ background in Compliance, Risk Management, Trade surveillance or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues
Ability to work independently
Exceptional organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail
Knowledge of Equities markets, understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
An understanding of and strong focus on the mechanics of a control environment, including escalation and risk-related issues

Client Coverage – Associate – Prime Brokerage – India

Job Responsibilities

This profile requires managing and growing relationship with the clients. This will involve understanding the clients business and their requirements. Accordingly, navigate the firms to deliver clients keeping in mind the risk and compliance aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Client relationship

Developing strong relationship with clients with appropriate communication through various channels (Emails / telecon / zoom calls)
Having wholistic view of clients by understanding their business / operational requirements.

Co-ordination and collaboration

Single point of contact for client issues as a primary account manager – oversee the client’s accounts and be involved in all client issues including, but not limited to financing, margin, trade clearing and settlement, cash management and corporate events.
Communicate with client as secondary or back up account manager capacity to respond and resolve issues pertaining to trade clearing and settlement, cash management, asset transfers and corporate events.
Proactively communicate issues and ensure problems are resolved completely in a timely and accurate manner.
Participate in working group calls (having global audience) for driving business solutions and changes.

Product knowledge and solutions

Develop understanding of business offerings of Morgan Stanley Prime brokerage division.
Perform root cause analysis for their clients to increase STP and reduce client issues.
Analysis of data around client balance trends and client market share.
Ensuring client stays current by introducing latest prime brokerage technology and reporting suite to the client
Performing activities and checks around regulatory or management checks in the area of short sales violations, analysis of cancel/ corrections of trades, aged settlements, holdings in restricted currency
Provide services to the Hedge Fund clients in the areas of due diligence inquiries from potential investors, maintaining/checking client fee schedules and their accurate billing, account opening and closing for organic changes to Funds.
Liaison between Fund Administrators and various teams in Morgan Stanley such as swaps desk, listed derivatives, interest and finance, stock loan team to resolve inquiries.
Solving problems by effectively influencing and utilizing resource across various teams in MS

Risk Management

Identifying any potential risks at early stage and escalate it to relevant stakeholders
Ensure that all internal policies and regulations are adhered to while driving business solutions for client

Qualification:

1 to 3 years of relevant experience in an Investment Bank or Custodian Bank with focus on capital markets and proficiency in financial products
Chartered Accountant or M.B.A. from reputed Institutes
Understanding capital markets and how products trade, settle and are accounted for
Demonstration of excellent communication and relation building skills
Exceptional organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail
Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately
Familiarity with basic accounting principles
Generalist skill set with the ability to deal with all levels of client organization and our firm’s support structure
Ability to handle pressure, prioritize and multi-tasking during the course of a business day

Associate – Prime Brokerage – Client Onboarding

Job Responsibilities:

Single point of contact who oversees the entire client onboarding process across all asset classes and client types
Assisting in the client integration process by hosting weekly calls, providing regular updates to clients, ensuring timely progression of follow up items, and managing client expectations around next steps and timing
Identify, promote, and maximize the client’s overall relationship with the firm
Break down product silos during onboarding will increase transparency into client needs and therefore maximize commercial opportunity
Provide updates to the larger Prime Brokerage team regarding launch statistics around fund count,
size, strategy, vendor selection and competitive landscape. Reduce Risk
Understand the client’s market, product, and operational needs
