Instrument/Electrical Maintenance Trainee – Monaca, PA
Job Description:
As an I/E Maintenance Trainee you must be willing to complete competency development programs that will provide knowledge and skills that will prepare you for the following job requirements in accordance with the relevant codes:
Troubleshooting DCS control interfaces; level, flow and pressure measurement equipment; vibration measurement instrumentation; Low and Medium Voltage equipment and power generation and distribution equipment
Read and understand piping/instrument and electrical drawings of instrumentation, control, power and metering circuitry.
Maintain and test emergency shutdown valves and control systems
Understanding of proper application of pressure rated piping/tubing fittings
Diagnose and apply results using various test equipment
Apply Electrical Safety Rules in accordance with site and OSHA standards.
Record work history and submit feedback for continuous improvement of Maintenance plans, policies and procedures
Troubleshoot and repair instrument or electrical systems
Perform routine installation and calibration of instrument or electrical systems
Ability to perform reactive or preventative maintenance of instrument or electrical systems and components
As an I/E Maintenance Trainee you must also be willing to receive training and development in order to perform the following in accordance with relevant codes:
Troubleshoot and maintain Process Control Systems and DCS control interfaces, level flow and pressure measurement equipment; vibration measurement instrumentation; Low Voltage equipment; Power generation equipment and distribution equipment ranging from 480V – 138kV
Troubleshoot, maintain and make field repairs to Instrumented Protection System (IPS) Devices and Safety Instrumented Shutdown systems
Troubleshooting, calibrating, configuring, repairing and replacement of electronic transmitters, transducers and DCS (DeltaV) components
Install, test, troubleshoot and repair fire and gas detection equipment and control systems
Install, test, troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) including correcting ladder logic
Troubleshooting, calibration and making field repairs to control valves, positioners, and actuators
Overhauling, repairing and calibrating displacer level controls
Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain and repair Pneumatic Equipment
Troubleshooting, calibrating and repairing pressure switches and regulators
Understanding of proper application of pressure rated piping/tubing fittings
Test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electric heat trace and controls
Detailed knowledge of HART-based communicators
Initiate, review, issue, and support work permits and the Permit to Work Process
Initiate, review, issue, and support the development of Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Aids, and Forms
Execute and continuously improve Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Aids, and Forms
Travel to existing facilities and vendor/licensors training locations as required (varies based on job assignment)
