Atlas Graduate Program: Associate Product Engineer (2024) – USA

This position is a part of the Atlas Graduate Program. Through this program, you will receive 12 months of technical and non-technical training, mentorship from Siemens EDA executives and world-class engineers, and learn what it is like to work as part of a company that is solving software challenges in the area of electronic design automation.

Job Responsibilities:

Siemens EDA is looking for a highly motivated Product Engineer responsible for interfacing with customers, engineers, and managers to:

• Develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes;

• Utilizing design and tooling tasks involving multiple design environments;

• Communicating software problems to product development;

• Honing verification methodologies related to RTL design verification and Gate level simulation aspects;

• Developing in-depth technical papers and presentations to customers;

• Collaborating with internal research and development engineering teams to define, prototype, evaluate, and test new Questasim features in context of complex IC design and verification flows;

• Developing test cases for the quality assurance group via testing of user scenarios;

• Driving product adoption

• Building and delivering in-depth technical presentations, training materials, white papers, contributed articles, and application notes;

• Collaborating with customers and stakeholders such as regional application engineers, global support engineers, and marketing;

• Collecting customer feedback about product applicability and requirements

Qualification:

• Technical degree (minimum BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience

• Understanding of semiconductor logic design and verification

• Basic skills in a hardware description language (VHDL, SV, UVM, etc.)

• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (PERL, Python, TCL, etc.)

• Comfortable with UNIX/LINUX and Windows working environments

• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good oral and written communication skills in English

• Self-motivated and able to work constructively and productively on a team, as well as independently, is essential.

Applications Engineer – Associate Graduate Program – Europe 

As an Associate Application Engineer, you will be involved in a structured Associate Engineer Training Program. This is a fast-track paid training program that challenges you to develop the expertise needed to address difficult technical problems.

Associate Application Engineers are members of a team of highly motivated individuals working with customers crafting the most sophisticated hardware and software systems in the world and whose applications span the electronics industry.

The area of specialism you will be trained in is Formal Verification. You will acquire techniques during the training program which will allow you to rapidly become a highly skilled engineer. This will also give you outstanding insight into our technical marketing, product support, and sales organizations. Upon successful completion of this 12-month training program, you will be eligible to advance into one of these organizations. Post-program opportunities include Field Application Engineer and Corporate Applications Engineer positions.

Associate positions require excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; self-motivated and results driven with strong problem-solving skills. Some travel may be required.

Qualification:

Bachelor or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering

Course work and project experience and programming skills C/C++, Tcl/TK, PERL.

Understanding of object-oriented concepts as applied to a Verification Environment.

Coursework/Experience with HDL-based, register-transfer-level (RTL), digital logic design, verification languages, and functional verification methodology, for ASICs and/or FPGAs –

Testbench architecture, design and implementation using UVM/OVM/AVM verification methodology,

VHDL and/or Verilog HDL simulation, SystemVerilog and Assertion-Based Verification techniques.

Must have some experience in one or more of these specific areas: UNIX, Linux, Windows.

Languages – Verilog (Behavioral, RTL, gate level), VHDL (Behavioral, RTL, gate level), TCL, Perl, C/C+

Preferred Experience:

Experience with design, simulation, verification of ASIC/VLSI circuits and systems, design verification and product test generation preferred.

Experience with formal verification techniques using languages such as PSL or SVA.
