Job Description:
You will be at least a bachelor’s degree graduate which ideally has a mathematical or computer content. This could be a management degree through to a Computer Science degree. The key to the role is that you need to be a natural problem-solver who is able to define the requirements of the problem, be able to systematically gather and analyse data and identify cause & effects in order to work towards achievable, realistic, timely and cost-wise solutions. A strong affinity for technology and how its application and potential is realised will also be a key selection criteria.
Much of your work will be client-facing to our business or our customers, so excellent interpersonal skills are vital. You will also be facing many of our IT partners in ensuring that they deliver to their obligations. You should be driven, passionate and tenacious. Your strong sense of personal accountability is bolstered by your eye for the bigger picture. Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to inspire trust among your customers and equally with our IT partners is essential.
The graduate programme
Tata Steel offers a development programme, with a 70-20-10 model of learning and the opportunity to achieve your first appointment from the 12-month mark, dependent on your progress.
During that first 12 months, we will give you real projects to deliver, along with formal training to help you develop your programme skills, influence people and manage effectively. During this time, you will have opportunities to work collaboratively with various departments to discover the best solutions whilst ensuring solutions proposed align with business strategic goals.
