Job Description:
Actively support the department in the development and implementation of an Engineering H&S management system.
Audit the implementation of engineering standards within area. This is both for work performed by in-house staff and contracted activities.
To challenge others with Standards & Behavioural non-acceptance and to drive safe working practices in the area on all maintenance related jobs.
Support the department in the development of Risk Assessments and delivery of Task Observations.
Ensure that maintenance activities, undertaken on the Company’s behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner that fully complies with health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
Plan and co-ordinate the maintenance and repair of processing machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and productive manner to maximise availability at optimum cost .
Ensure process detail (i.e: breakdown history, service requirements, planned maintenance activities, spares, part detail etc.) are detailed within the planned maintenance system.
Monitor planning data to continuously improve predictive maintenance effectiveness.
Ensure appropriate records are retained in order to demonstrate appropriate maintenance and compliance to both TATA Policy and legal requirements.
Ensure legal, statutory and policy inspections are performed across the process and office facilities.
To identify and deliver appropriate training in relation to Engineering Planning for the department while maintaining appropriate records.
Supporting the Engineering Team, plan and deliver engineering development projects across the asset base to improve plant operational performance and asset integrity.
Deputise for Engineering Leads when required.
Qualification:
Ideally Educated to university degree or apprenticeship served in an appropriate engineering discipline.
A knowledge of statistical and problem solving techniques with computer literacy and good oral and written communication skills.
A knowledge of and ability to apply Continuous Improvement techniques.
Detailed knowledge of the process facility, material / products (materials, coatings, grades etc.), customer quality requirements and performance targets.
Has an awareness of TATA Steel Business policies, including H&S, Environmental, Quality, Preventive maintenance planning etc.
Detailed knowledge of TATA Steel business systems including PIRANA, STRATIX and SAP.
In depth knowledge of Contractor Control Process.
