Cognizant Apprenticeship Program – IT Support Technician (Canada)
Program and Role Overview
The IT Support Technician Apprenticeship Program is a one-year, paid learning experience where new hires are required to successfully complete specific learning hours and on-the-job training to ensure success in their new role and pass technical assessments along the way.
Upon completion of a degree and certificate from the apprenticeship program, associates will be eligible for continued employment with Cognizant based on their education, work experience, technical assessment, performance review, and client engagement.
Joining Cognizant as an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will work within the Cloud, Infrastructure & Security (CIS) practice to provide professional and technical support to clients across all industries and their systems and networks in the following areas: general system administration, network administration, cloud administration, and end-user systems and applications support. This is a client-facing role that involves regular interactions with various client managers.
New hires will be trained in specific technical skills to enhance their core competencies and advance their careers. Throughout the first year at Cognizant, we will closely monitor progress and provide coaching, training, and support to help achieve long-term career goals at Cognizant.
Job Description:
Open to relocation to Canada for future assignments as business needs dictate.
Work 24/7 rotating shifts: Shift start and end times vary and often begin or end outside of normal working hours.
Provide first level support and resolution for Cognizant products, internal partners and customers – including working on assigned tickets with a focus on account provisioning and troubleshooting.
You are responsible for implementing the company’s sustainable development policy and managing human resources.
Create detailed issue notes, find steps the user can take to resolve the issue, manage the flow of incoming support requests and update them in the service desk tracking software.
Update general knowledge of current company, division and facility products, and improve ability to resolve requests on first contact.
Ability to create tickets, categorize and prioritize open items in the action log and ensure timely delivery across the organization.
Rapidly escalate and resolve production issues while communicating progress and resolution path to the customer.
Follow up on reported complex incidents to ensure they are resolved, requests are met and communication with the customer is complete.
Undergo training based on project requirements
Qualification:
Bilingual – fluent English and French required
Minimum Associate’s degree (preferably a Bachelor’s degree) in an information technology related field (computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information systems).
CompTIA and/or AWS certification(s) desired
1-2 years of experience in end-user support and IT performance analysis (preferred)
Experience in 24/7 operations (i.e. call centers within a voice support process).
Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of computer hardware and software
Knowledge of Windows operating systems
Proficiency in task management and customer relationship software; good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Strong multitasking skills to handle voice calls and documents simultaneously.

Junior Test Engineer Graduate – Europe
Job Description:
As a Junior Test Engineer Graduate (d/f/m) in QE&A, you will work closely with customers in the different industries to define and refine their quality requirements.
You’ll work in a team of onsite and offshore associates to create and maintain manual and automated tests, often invoked “lights out”.
You’ll help to identify the most critical business processes and create tests to expose any deviation from expected behavior.
You will need to identify selected test scenarios that can be automated and for use in regression testing.
The team you work in will investigate test failures and manage defects to track their correction. And you’ll regularly report on the completeness of test coverage and status of test results.
Qualification:
· Minimum a bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Informatics, Engineering, etc.)
· Graduation completed in the last 2 years
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (C1) in German and English
· Able to work independently, identify/mitigate risk, estimate effort for testing.
· Familiar with many types of tests, such as functional, interface, middleware, system integration, user-acceptance, regression and non-functional
· Familiar with modern methodologies such as Agile and V-model
Secondary skills and experience (Nice to have)
· Working Knowledge in test and defect management tools like JIRA or ALM
· Familiar with concepts of test automation.
