IT Hardware Asset Analyst – SACM/CMDB- VIRTUAL
Location: Austin, TX Preferred. This is a WFH opportunity
Job Description:
The Hardware Asset Analyst will track and analyze new and existing IT assets.
Per the roles and responsibilities outlined in the lifecycle process to maintain the CMDB,
Registers and/or ensures registration of new Assets / Configuration Items (CIs)Maintains proper relationships as defined in the agreed Configuration Models
Assist in the Audits of the CMDB as planned in the Audit Schedule to ensure accuracy – via physical or auto-scans
Proactively identifying discrepancies and driving same to closure to maintain accuracy of the CMDB
Assists the execution of Quality Assurance process over the Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) process and policies
Provides reporting, both operational and ad-hoc reports as required and agreed
Follows and promotes SACM process & technology standards
Works closely with the stakeholders of the CMDB data and ensures that CI changes are reflected in a timely manner.
Qualification:
Strong Data Analytical skills including relational databases
Aware of technologies used in large organizations to deliver IT services
Data handling ETL or tool integration or modeling (common data modeling)
Experience with ServiceNow or other similar ITSM tools.
Excel skills at a minimum of intermediate level including experience in data handling, formula writing, and formatting.
Word skills at an intermediate level including experience in use of styles, template editing, and proofing techniques such as general technical writing, accessibility/spell checking, and attention to detail before submitting to the MSI Process team for QA.
Aware of IT Service Management processes and ITIL
Basic statistical data analysis techniques
Experience in using data management platforms and/or reporting platforms including SQL queries against databases
Diligence in following style templates and documentation formats.
Strong organizational skills; including good time management skills
Desired
ITIL industry certification, or willingness to obtain before 2024
Managing queues and proper ticket handling techniques.
Under-graduate degree or demonstrable equivalent work experience
