Bechtel 2022 Apprentice – Rail Systems Engineer

Our Apprenticeship Programme will allow you to grow and develop as part of our ‘Early Career Hire’ Talent pipeline within our Engineering team, through our Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering. This will provide you with the experience, training and support needed to become an Engineer.

Job Description:
Supporting the team to deliver safe and affordable design solutions that meet requirements.
Support from the Civil Design and Environmental Services Consultant (CDES) preparing the Rail Systems scope, drawing on expertise from within HS2 informing and supporting the minimum delivering design work that complies with requirements.
Identify and assess design risks within the project.
Ensure technical submissions comply with the accepted format and design requirements.
Provide technical engineering input, designs, documentation, and responses supporting the hybrid bill through parliament including additional provisions, freedom of information requests, and technical requests.
Attend public consultation and planning forums, working with local communities identifying priorities.
Support Senior Area Engineer in liaising with external stakeholders fully capturing their input and balance that with the overall HS2 business and technical requirements.
Explore opportunities for developing local community benefits and solutions under the direction of the Area Manager.

You will be working towards a Level 6 Rail Systems Engineering Apprenticeship Degree

Entry requirements
Must have three A-Levels at Grades A*-C including Mathematics and Physical Science or their equivalent or; Level 3 in Engineering.
