Increased Hiring demand for freshers in the upcoming quarter up December 2022

The TeamLease Edtech Career Outlook report for the period of July to December 2022 examined several major patterns on the hiring demand for freshmen as well as the total hiring demand by industries and courses.

The report utilises a metric called “intent to hire” to indicate the percentage of employers who plan to hire. According to the research, that percentage is 59%, which is higher than the 11% global intention to hire freshmen in the upcoming quarter. The talent pool’s total hiring intent for the quarter is at 61%.

Larger cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore have the biggest need for occupations like “affiliate marketing specialist,” “data scientist,” “molecular biologist,” “wellness specialist,” and “user experience research.”

But first, let’s examine certain high-demand positions by industry:

IT continues: With 65% of hiring intentions, IT continues to have the strongest need for software developers and data engineers.

E-commerce: With a 48% recruiting intent, e-commerce,

Telecom sector: With a high recruiting intent of 47% needed, the telecom sector

Health and Pharma: With a high hiring intent of 41%, but the biggest demand, was health and pharma

Retail: Supply chain and market research positions were in great demand across retail.

Manufacturing: 33% of manufacturing employers planned to hire new employees, with production engineers and mechanical engineers being the most sought-after positions.

Engineering and Infrastructure: With a 38% hiring intent, Engineering and Infrastructure had a strong demand for Blockchain Engineers, making this a high-demand course.

Logistics: With 27% of hiring intentions, logistics coordinators were in high demand.

Consulting: With a 12% hiring intention, consulting

Educational services: The largest demand was for educational services, with a hiring intent of 25%.

FMCG: FMCG had a 14% recruiting intent, with logistics executives and marketing research analysts in the highest demand.

Power and Energy: Energy service analysts and design engineers were in high demand, which was shared by Power and Energy.

Construction: Civil engineers and architects were in demand, with hiring intentions at 12%.

Agriculture and Agro chemicals: 9% of hiring intentions in the agriculture and agrochemicals sectors were below the level of demand.

Marketing and Advertising: The overall recruiting demand for marketing and advertising was only 9%, however within that,

Travel and hospitality: Food is always in demand, thus sous chefs and banquet executives were in the most demand even if the employment need for the travel and hospitality industries overall was low at 7%.
