Hardware Services Internship

Location: Remote

Job Description:

Installing hardware in the data center

Maintaining hardware related output queues (incident, service request, change)

Basic and in depth troubleshooting (incident management) of hardware related problems

Follow all data center and hardware related processes and procedures

Assist in maintaining CMDB and hardware inventory for Site Services

Provide shipping and receiving support and assist other team members

Vendor management at the site – escalations, escort, assistance in troubleshooting

Provide site services audit compliance support

Escalation of incidents and problems to management

Assists in the overall hardware planning at the site level

Assist in mentoring and training of other hardware services associates

Assist in the development/maintaining of best practices and procedures for the team

Help develop detailed plan for hardware installation for all projects

Assist engineering support with configuration of hardware

Assist in customer meetings regarding HW projects

All Shipping and Receiving Duties

Adherence to all DCIM related process and procedures

Qualifications:

Preferred but not required.

BSc Computer Science or Associate’s degree in IT-related field plus two years of IT experience preferred

1-3 years of experience of hardware installation.

Hands-on experience with hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP, IBM, Cisco, etc.) is a plus.

Hardware and Networking experience with CCNA and/or A+ certifications is a plus.

Experience working in a data center environment with strict DCIM processes and procedures

Strong problem-solving abilities

Highly developed analytical and organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication Skills

Good Time management Skills

Able to lift 40 lbs.

Ability to Multi-task and meet daily timelines.

Willingness to work and participate as an effective team member with all levels of employees and management.

Working knowledge of Windows based programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is a plus

Ability to work with limited supervision

System Administrator Internship

Location: Remote

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor all system alerts and assist to resolve complex issues in system hardware and software.

Administer efficient work of servers and system and provide support to everyday operations.

Analyze system for failure and assist to restore files with help of operating system.

Supervise efficient application of various window patches and security controls.

Manage and monitor system plans and supervise all activities for plan and unplanned systems.

Install and configure various software on window operating systems.

Supervise system software processor and prepare upgrade strategies for storage.

Coordinate with various groups and perform troubleshoot on all production problems and provide resolution.

Collaborate with networking department and install necessary hardware to systems.

Perform research on system technology and provide resolution to complex issues for processes.

Monitor trouble tickets and provide appropriate resolution for same.

Document processes

Qualification:

Enrollment in a B.S. in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree program or other technical degree program with an emphasis in Computer, Controls, Network, or Computer Science; completion of the first (2) years preferred

Knowledge of different operating systems (Microsoft, Unix, Linux, etc)

PowerShell experience will be great

Virtualization experience and knowledge of building computers

Hardware knowledge

Basic programming skills – (PHP, JavaScript, etc)

Ability to solve problems in stressful situations

Strong attention to detail

Communication skills

Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users

Job Description:

We are seeking Mainframe Systems Engineer graduates to handle the following:

Install, update, and administer Mainframe operating system software.

Perform changes within company regulations and security standards.

Assist with testing, implementation, and installation of new/improved systems, as well as product upgrades.

Attend meetings and interact regularly with management, team, and clients to continuously improve services.

Participate in On-Call rotation schedule.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related discipline

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Basic programming skills

Proficient with Microsoft products

Knowledge of mainframe and/or open systems operating systems

Preferred –

IT internship or work experience

Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels of the organization or that of clients

Excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills

Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas
