Remotely Operated Systems Internship – Summer 2023 USA

Cargill Remotely Operated Systems (ROS) Program or Cargill Business Unit’s utilizing drones organically at specific sites.

Our Programming
Internships are paid and are typically 12 weeks in duration.
Day-to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
Housing assistance and relocation reimbursement are available to interns who qualify.
Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or full-time position for the following year.
As employees, interns receive access to volunteer and community outreach opportunities and paid time off for volunteer activities.
Throughout the internship, interns and co-ops are encouraged to participate in events that will give exposure to leadership, provide development opportunities, and offer the ability to network with cross-functional interns/co-ops across the U.S.

Job Description:

Safely and professionally assist in remotely operated aircraft system operations.
Perform preflight, inflight and post flight tasks and safety checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Support executing optimal solutions as onsite project assistant using data and image capturing technologies and effectively operate equipment such as aerial drone systems, flight controllers and associated software and hardware.
Routinely monitor weather, navigation and airspace limitations to fulfill project requirements.
Perform basic compliance checks, airspace reviews, mission planning, mission debriefs and post project data processing and analysis.
Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Required Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Aviation, Drones/Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Robotics, Remote Sensing or related degree graduating between December 2023 and May 2025
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures
Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity from anywhere in the U.S. to one of Cargill’s preferred ROS locations
Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June – August 2023)
Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance
Ability to travel up to 50% during the internship
