2024 Summer Intern Technical Solutions Engineer – USA
Job Description:
We are currently seeking interns to join our team for a summer internship supporting IBM’s Federal Chief Technology Office (CTO). As an intern, you will have the opportunity to evaluate, develop, and demonstrate technical solutions through prototypes, minimum viable products (MVPs), and project support.
This year’s focus will allow you to contribute to cutting-edge projects that address client problems while leveraging the advanced solutions provided by oLABs. You will participate in various aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, code implementation, testing, and support.

Job Responsibilities
A Data/AI Engineer in Client Engineering is a specialist in Foundation Models and building AI systems. You’ll leverage the Watson X platform with clients to co-create the value AI can bring to business. You will focus on Technology Patterns as our way to build the right skills and assets for repeatability to delight clients.
Job Requirements:
Understanding of key concepts in the Foundation Models literature and expertise in building and deploying them for real-world examples.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically Kubernetes, and expertise in leveraging them for AI workloads.
Capability to demonstrate and evaluate AI solutions via experimental methods, particularly through hands-on creation of prototypes.
Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM), Langchain and HuggingFace Model

Backend Developer Intern (Part Time – 4 months)
Job Responsibilities:
This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 4 month part time work term commencing in May 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term.
Work in an Agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain IBM Data and AI data management SaaS products on multiple hyperscalers.
Use continuous integration tools like Jenkins and Artifactory to build automation pipeline to deploy different service workloads for open data management SaaS environments.
Collaborate multiple development teams to enable a continuous integration environment that sustains high productivity levels and emphasizes defect prevention techniques.
Design and implement automation for deployment, monitoring, logging, alerting of large-scale open data management SaaS environments.
Required:
Familiarity of RDBMS, data warehouse, data lakes, data lakehouse
Familiarity with Hive metastore and open data formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi)
