Internship – Operations (8-12 weeks) – Europe

You will play an active role in problem solving for clients including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, developing and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.

We view the fellow intern position as the start of a rewarding, challenging and highly flexible career with McKinsey and the Operations practice. During your 8-12 weeks internship, you will serve as a junior consultant on client engagements and work with a number of colleagues and clients in a range of industry and operations service lines. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic record; in process of obtaining a master’s degree

Initial experience in working on an operational topic (e.g. product development, supply chain, purchasing, lean services, manufacturing, etc.)

Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities

Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

Mobility and enthusiasm for taking on longer, international assignments

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and local office language

Business Analyst Intern

Our Business Analyst Intern program gives a group of undergraduate students and eligible graduate students first-hand experience with consulting at McKinsey. You will participate in an introductory training program, as well as a range of social activities to get to know your office and the firm. At the end of internship, you may receive an offer to join us as a full-time Business Analyst.

You’ll have ~9 months internship program in Almaty or Astana. You’ll work as part of a client project team, collaborating with colleagues and clients to solve their toughest business problems.

Recruiting Intern

As a Recruiting Intern, you will be based in Baku as part of our Türkiye, Caspian, Central Asia offices (TCO) Talent Attraction (TA) team. This team supports the full-recruiting life cycle, from candidate attraction to offer, while working closely with TA team members and client service professionals (CSPs).

You will support various administrative tasks and projects, including data management using the Applicant Tracking System, providing candidate support, coordinating recruiting events and interview logistics, and assisting with resume screening. You will also function as key contact for women recruiting priority across the office and design and implement women recruiting strategies and key initiatives. You will drive targeted attraction campaigns to ensure the office has healthy assessment pipelines. You will collaborate with TA team members and CSPs, participate in relevant training sessions, and contribute to select team projects.

Qualification:

Recent graduate of bachelor’s degree with basic business knowledge

Previous internship experience in Human Resources field is preferred

Ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—in English, Russian, Azeri

Excellent customer service skills with a strong orientation towards collaboration in a team environment

Ability to independently manage and complete tasks with minimal supervision

High level of maturity and professionalism

Strong attention to detail, proactiveness, and sense of ownership

Flexibility to travel and work outside standard office hours as needed

Associate Intern

As an associate intern, you will join a client service team for 8-10 weeks, contributing to workstreams to help solve some of the toughest challenges our clients face.

Typically enrolled in advanced graduate degree program (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.); Requirements may vary by country or practice.

Excellent organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels.

Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.

Ability to create work product-focused materials / outputs, which may include PowerPoint decks, Excel models, articles, or other written deliverables.

Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment.

Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times.

Ability to travel to and work in varying environments that may be challenging and/or not accessible (e.g., factories, hospitals, mines).
