Network Production Engineer, Intern

Meta is looking for talented, highly motivated university students for our Network Engineering team. As a member of the team, you will work alongside experienced Backbone, Data Center, Production Engineers (Network) on a large-scale global network.

Job Responsibilities

Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks

Define, and develop optimized network monitoring and automation systems

Partner alongside the best engineers in the industry on the coolest stuff around, the code and systems you work on will be in production and used to support billions of users all around the world

Qualifications:

Currently has, or in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience with computer networks

Experience in UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar.

Experience coding in at least one language (Python and C++ are all in heavy use)

Ability to learn new concepts around network design and management

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, and ISIS

Production Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities

Own back-end services like our data warehouses, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, infrastructure components like our Memcached infrastructure, and everything in between
Write and review code, develop documentation, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a

Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field

Experience in a *nix (Linux, BSDs, Solaris, or another UNIX-like OS) or Windows OS

Experience coding in at least one language

1 or more years with new development languages (Python, Hack/PHP, C++, Java, Rust, and GoLang)

Research Scientist Intern, Systems ML – SW/HW Co-Design – Inference

Meta is seeking Research Scientist Interns to join our AI & Systems Co-Design HPC & Inference team to drive the definition of our next-generation AI Systems Inference and Training architectures.

The team works across HW types (GPUs, ASICs), workload types (Recommendation Models, LLM, LDM) and workloads (Training & Inference). The team drives innovation on:

– Low precision Numerics for Training & Inference

– ML operator / Kernel optimizations for Training & inference

– Inference E2E performance – Model, SW, System, Accelerator

– Performance modeling and simulations

– HPC Software Optimizations

– GPU / ASIC optimizations

– Software libraries, models, and frameworks

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with internal software and platforms engineering teams to understand the workloads and infrastructure requirements.

You will drive technology path-finding, roadmap definition and co-design activities to deliver new capabilities and efficient systems for our fleet.

You will also work with external industry partners to influence their roadmaps and build the best products for Meta’s Infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, PhD degree in the field of Computer Science or a related STEM field.

ASIC Engineer Intern, Infra Silicon Enablement

Job Responsibilities

Work across all aspects of silicon lifecycle to deliver reliable and performant silicon solutions – from early architecture and design inputs, pre-silicon validation, bring-up and post-silicon characterization and deployment in fleet

Create/develop validation and automation tool sets targeted at silicon validation and productization – inclusive of, but not limited to silicon diagnostics, performance analysis, debug tools, bare metal and full stack systems, from early labs to data center deployments

Understand production system use cases to improve validation

Provide feedback into next generation architecture and design with insights from the production fleet

Root-cause, resolve and remediate issues with silicon across the product lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

Data Scientist Intern, Product Analytics

Job Responsibilities

Perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights.

Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by communicating results to cross-functional groups.

Work closely with a Product Manager and Engineering team to proactively create rules and manage decisions.

Hardware Systems Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities

Interface with hardware, mechanical, power, thermal and software engineers to understand system architecture. Hands-on system level debug including silicon, PCB Board, Firmware and Operating systems.

Drive hardware optimizations by creating hardware, thermal, and mechanical test plans for server hardware.

Create and execute system level tests while keeping a thorough procedural record and data logs.

Create automated test infrastructure through the use of scripting languages and remotely controlled test equipment.
