Material Coordinator
Job Description:
The Material Coordinator performs functions of project site materials management, including receipt, storage and issue of project materials, consumables, and equipment; documentation and data entry, site equipment and facilities rentals, and material control in the warehouse, lay down yards, and job site locations.
Reports to and receives operational direction from the Materials Manager, or Materials Coordination Supervisor if assigned.
Receives functional direction from the Project Field Procurement Manager.
Maintains direct working relationship with Project Procurement, Field Project Controls, discipline Field Engineers, Field Procurement, Automation Support, Construction Superintendents, (Sub) Contractors, and site Customer personnel to ensure that Construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of construction work.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 6 years of professional related work experience, or in lieu of degree, 12 years of progressive, related work experience.
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel.
Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to the worksite.
Understanding of physical counts and inspection of arriving material.
Experience in inventory control mechanisms and processes.
Thorough understanding of the Bechtel Procurement System.
Thorough knowledge of material control and coordination with construction.
Thorough knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and applicable Agency Supplements.
Understanding of Supply Chain Management processes.
