Co-op – Assembly Engineering Summer 2021 – May Start
Job Description
Mechanical Engineer Summer Co-op. This position will report directly to the Technical Team Leader in Tooling and Equipment Design. As a Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will work closely with the Assembly Engineering team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a high volume Assembly plant. You will have exposure to real-time engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom. Effective engineering co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive. Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week Summer Term: May-August 2021.
AS A CO-OP ASSEMBLY ENGINEERING YOU WILL:
Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvement plans
Conduct failure analysis investigations
Participate in process safety management activities
Contribute to team meetings and conference calls
Assist with CAD tooling and equipment design

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Able to work 40 hours a week (Monday – Friday from 8am – 4:30pm) during the scheduled semester
Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Undergraduate student pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering
Prefer a Sohpomore or above.
Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
Leadership in school or community organizations preferred
Manufacturing experience preferred
Strongly prefer a 3.0 GPA or higher
