Data Centre Shift Engineer (mechanical)
Job Description;
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Data Centre Shift Engineer to join HSBC Technology.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Operation and maintenance of complex engineering systems, ensuring that work is completed to the applicable standards, within agreed timescales and with no disruption to IT Services.
Implementing effective emergency operating procedures to ensure system recovery is achieved with minimum impact to services, escalating and raising awareness as appropriate.
Scheduling and managing the planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of engineering systems and infrastructure, whilst ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and to the expected quality.

Excellent technical and analytical skills
Ability to resolve critical situations without reference
Competent IT skills essential
NVQ III/BTEC HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical (biased)/Electrical Engineering
Experience in maintaining complex systems including HVAC, Chillers, Water supply and boiler/plant rooms and UPS systems (static and rotary)
Health and Safety awareness and be trained to a recognised industry standard
