We currently recruiting for a Compliance Engineer in our Steel and Slab department at our Port Talbot site. Within the role, you will be responsible for carrying out Regulatory Compliance verification, validation and qualification of all compliance related assets within Steel and Slab.
The Compliance Engineer will focus on Confined Space & Atmospheric Regulations, Control of Asbestos Regulations and Hand & Arm Vibration Controls Regulations.
Compliance Engineer – GB, UK, United Kingdom
Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures for your designated Safety Systems. Updating relevant registers and training / competency assessing employees
Updating and maintaining the registers, maintenance schedules, test certificates and drawings to ensure compliance to statutory regulations for relevant maintenance and inspections.
Writing and reviewing procedures and to set up training modules to allow identified departmental personnel to be trained and registered as competent and authorised persons in accordance with the works rules.
Representing the department as a lead during audits by external organisations eg Competent Authority, Environmental Agency etc.
Holding a good working knowledge of regulations and best practice associated with engineering standards in order to ensure appropriate application within the Hot Mill.
The Candidate
We are looking for Compliance Engineers who will have previous experience in a similar role and you’ll ideally be educated to degree level with recognized engineering experience. You will have specific experience in the following areas:
Ideally have knowledge of SAP maintenance management system
Good understanding of Asset Management culture and techniques, together with experience / knowledge of maintenance best practice methodologies.
Sound knowledge of Tata / External Business working systems, such as Health and Safety requirements, Safe Working Practices, safety contacts, topic audits, Quality Assurance documentation, COSHH.
Knowledge of compliance regimes and regulatory requirements
The Compliance Engineer will be conversant in the use of SAP to interrogate the system to identify maintenance regimes, notifications, orders, and backlog associated with the outage assets, SES, GRN etc.
