Internship, Software Engineer, Update Systems (Fall 2025)
Tesla is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to help design frameworks and infrastructure to validate Tesla’s update systems. The Update Systems team supports over the air updates (OTA), a critical component in the way Tesla operates its fleet and continues to improve the customers’ experience. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality of the components within the update system. You will also design and maintain automated HIL and SIL test suites, python tools used within these test suites, as well as HIL test setups.
Job Responsibilities
Develop scenarios, test cases, and write test code for update systems using hardware and software in the loop testing environments
Maintain autonomous test and reporting infrastructure
Maintain internal python tools to support validation efforts and test automation
Define, gather, and report on performance and health metrics related to the system updater
Work cross-functionally to investigate and validate issues
Communicate with developers to proactively identify problems and gaps in test
Qualification:
Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a graduation date between 2025 – 2026
Strong Python programmer
Acute attention to detail
Ability to understand, test, and troubleshoot complicated system interactions
Experience developing tests with reusable code
Ability to develop test guidelines from specifications
Strong understanding of object-oriented design and algorithms
Ability to drive problems to solutions across different groups in the company
Strong communication skills

Internship, Compliance Engineer, Energy Engineering (Fall 2025)

This position is expected to start August/September 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through approx December 2025) or into Winter/Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
Job Description:
Support lab testing of lithium-ion cells and battery modules for compliance and safety validation
Assist in designing electrical schematics and test setups using AutoCAD, Altium, or similar tools
Help specify and select electrical components for test fixtures (e.g., panels, DAQs, sensors, relays)
Set up and wire electrical systems, and data acquisition systems for automated testsCollaborate with engineering and compliance teams on test procedures and lab infrastructure improvements
Participate in troubleshooting electrical setups and support root cause analysis for test anomalies
Maintain lab safety standards and document test configurations, wiring diagrams, and protocols
Qualification:
Pursuing a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Coursework on Power electronics, Control system, renewable energy
Basic understanding of electrical schematics, power distribution, and wiring practices

Internship, Embedded Software Engineer Body Controls, Vehicle Firmware (Fall 2025)
Job Description:
Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment
Specify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems
Design the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, testing and high-volume manufacturing
Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization
Writing component level tests to ensure proper functionality
Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements
Qualification:
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date between December 2025-December 2026
Proficiency in C, familiarity with MISRA C a plus
Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability
Experience with embedded microprocessor tools

Internship, Collision Technician Trainee (Summer 2025)
In the Collision Tech Trainee Intern role, you will be a part of the team that is repairing the most advanced vehicles on the planet. In addition to being a team player, we are looking for a problem solver with good oral and written communication as you may be interacting with customers. As an Intern, you will also learn about electric vehicles and Tesla’s innovative technologies, in accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Perform guided entry-level work of Tesla electric vehicles
Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
Perform various collision repair operations that may include detail, paint prep, disassembly, reassembly, estimating, and mechanical operations
Support senior level technicians to repair Tesla electric vehicles
As required maintain inventory, records of time, shop supplies and parts
Support Front and Back of House operations as needed or on a rotational basis
Qualification:
Knowledge of collision repair methods and techniques to repair vehicles
Current enrollment in a Collision or Automotive program preferred
Valid driver’s license preferred and capable of reporting to local collision repair center
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Be able to work in a team-based environment and have a “safety first” attitude
Familiar understanding of the English language and have basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

Internship, Megapack Product Management Engineer, Energy Engineering (Fall 2025)

Qualification:
Pursing a Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Energy related field

Experience collecting market feedback in a B2B environment, and build insights based on a blend of qualitative, quantitative and market insights to develop a strong proposal for the future of megapack services
An overall rock-solid blend of engineering (electrical, mechanical) and commercial expertise
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
