Cybersecurity Engineer Summer Intern – United States

This role will specialize in supporting software-as-a-service cybersecurity solutions: secure service edge technology (Zscaler) and web application firewalls (Imperva). Specifically, the ideal candidate can analyze comparative data, surmise optimal risk postures, and assist in the transition of application security from one technology vendor to another.

Job Responsibilities:

Entry-level analysis of cybersecurity risks & modeling potential vs desired state outcomes.

Entry-level engineering experience modeling, testing and implementing secure configurations for zero trust networks and web application firewalls.

Analyze security events, incidents and problems to articulate trends and potential problem areas highlighting prevention tactics and techniques using the cybersecurity solution portfolio to minimize/eliminate vulnerability vectors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree studies in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Experience managing secure configurations against established industry/company policies and standards, managing change through prescribed processes

Takes initiative and can test/apply theoretical principles to solve problems.

Strong understanding of network security principles.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.

Cybersecurity Incident Response Intern – US

As a Cybersecurity Incident Response Intern, you will primarily focus on monitoring and investigating security alerts, applying analysis techniques, and documenting findings in an event case management system. You will work closely with Senior Incident Responders and Cyber Threat Intelligence to ensure timely and effective insight and resolution of real-world security issues. The intern will be trained on policies, security tools, threat & attack vector concepts, analysis techniques, artifact collection, reporting, and other skills required to conduct cybersecurity investigations.

As an XCS intern, you will gain invaluable experience in resolving actual security incidents, engaging with IT and end-users on remediation best practices, and enforcing security policies and standards.

Job Requirements:

Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Science.

Must be able to work a 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday) between May 28th – August 8th.

Preferred Skills:

Basic knowledge of network security tools and firewall analysis techniques to identify anomalies.

We are seeking a highly talented Cybersecurity Intern eager to gain experience in maintaining the security and integrity of global information systems. Various activities occur withing the GRC team including identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks.
