Engineer – Telecom
Job Description:
Operate as part of a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering works and provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted man-hour and project schedules.
· Review ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review techno-commercial vendor offers
· Assist in the preparation of equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
· Participate in the review of contract requirements for project execution, organize the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work; review Specifications, Data Sheets, Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Telecoms Philosophies and other relevant documents.
· Assists in the preparation of detailed engineering documents and drawings including the preparation of the Design Basis document, Telecoms Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets, Bill of Quantities, Block Diagrams, Cable Routing & Equipment Lay-outs, Tagging Schedule, Terminations Details Drawings, Installation Detail Drawings, Cable Tray/Trench Lay-outs, Cable Schedules and Cable Drum Schedules, JB schedules, Interconnection Schedules and other design calculations and drawings.
· Organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs), coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs.
· Coordinate for uploading documents into “Petrocept (Documentum)”, maintain and archive IDC’s, originals, check prints and archive Master technical drawings in accordance to Company and quality procedures
· Assist in the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to Vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents, ensure Vendor specifications meet with client specifications and are within budgeted costs.
· Prepare Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials. Review vendor equipment compatibility and compliance with the scope of client specifications and layouts. Ensure materials are obtained within the scheduled timeframe and budgeted costs.
· Knowledge, understanding and application of relevant international standards and codes.
· Knowledge, understanding and application of the requirements for site installation and commissioning of Telecom systems/ devices (supervision, and inspection).
· Knowledge, understanding and application of Company Procedures.
· Perform related duties as and when directed by Direct Supervisor.
· Knowledge, understanding and application of identified discipline lesson learned
· Knowledge, understanding and application of relevant International Codes & Standards
Minimum Requirement
Bachelors Degree in Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering with minimum 1 year of related Petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy organizations in the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry
