CareerForFreshers Career Advice
If you are planning to attend a TCS Walk-In Drive, don’t prepare only on the day of the interview. Start preparing as soon as you identify a suitable opportunity.
Before the Walk-In
Research the role and understand the skills mentioned in the job description. Update your resume so that your most relevant skills, projects, internships, and experience are easy for recruiters to identify.
Prepare Your Introduction
The question “Tell me about yourself” is often one of the first interview questions. Prepare a short and professional introduction covering your education, relevant skills, experience or projects, and why you are interested in the position.
Revise Job-Related Skills
For technology roles, revise relevant programming, SQL, databases, cloud, testing, or other technical concepts. For non-technical roles, focus on communication, process knowledge, analytical ability, customer handling, and other skills mentioned in the job description.
Carry the Right Documents
Keep your updated resume, government ID, educational documents, experience certificates, and other required documents ready. Carrying both original documents and photocopies can be useful when verification is required.
Dress Professionally
A walk-in interview is still a formal recruitment process. Wear clean, professional attire and maintain confident and respectful communication throughout the interaction.
Be Prepared for Multiple Rounds
Do not assume that a walk-in interview means you will have only one discussion. Depending on the position, you may face an assessment, technical/domain round, HR discussion, or document verification.
Most Important Advice
Don’t attend a walk-in interview just because the company is a big brand. Attend because the role matches your career goals and skills.
A strong application combines relevant skills, a targeted resume, interview preparation, professional communication, and genuine interest in the role. Even if you are not selected, use the experience to understand where you need to improve before your next interview.
