Job Overview

At BNY Mellon, our data-centric service model helps provide clients with clean, scrubbed information to support the investment process. Our Middle Office service is a full lifecycle of investment activities through an integrated data, technology and operations model that supports all product types. Middle Office offers a full spectrum of services: trade support, derivatives and collateral management, bank loan support, investment book of record (IBOR), investment performance, and data management.

Job Responsibilities

The general day to day responsibilities include the research and resolution of reconciliation breaks, quality controls, and nightly portfolio valuation. During these processes you will interact with custodian banks, clients, and other internal support teams. Our clients are invested in a wide variety of asset types and global markets. The work is highly time sensitive and requires an attention to detail, the ability to take on responsibility and work in a team setting while supporting a number of businesses.

Under minimal supervision, provides accounting support activities for funds of moderate complexity
Utilizes internal systems and external data to validate and resolve reconciliation breaks while adhering to established procedures
Maintains records in accordance with department policies and procedures
Prepares system-generated reports or templates and conducts general data validation and reconciliation
Confirms findings with more senior team members
Has some knowledge of compliance rules and service level agreements
Provides guidance to less experienced Middle Office support staff
No direct reports

Qualification:

Bachelors Degree Preferred. High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Mutual fund industry or Accounting Support background preferred.

0-4 years of total work experience preferred, varies on the level of the role.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate to advanced understanding of Excel.
High level of communication skills.
Remain organized and be able to handle multiple priorities
Work independently but also be a helpful teammate.
Comfortable asking questions to gain understanding on any area where understanding is limited.

Collateral Operations Analyst – Entry-Level/New Grad Opportunity!

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Collateral Operations Analyst to join our Collateral Operations team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Orlando, FL – HYBRID/REMOTE.

As a Collateral Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for providing the collateral and portfolio reconciliation support as outlined above to clients on a daily basis. Apart from the daily collateral activities, you will also partner with senior colleagues to identify, develop and implement process changes, and be actively involved in contributing to broader strategic team objectives.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Up to three (0-3) years of total work experience is preferred.
Experience in an operational area and/or client services is preferred.
Experience and knowledge in derivatives, reconciliations, brokerage, trade, settlements and cash processing are all skills transferrable to this role but not a barrier to entry as on-the-job product training will be available.

Process-mindset and an interest in solving complex problems, performing reconciliations, and finding ways to make processes better.
Interest in advancing technical knowledge specific to derivative and collateral product knowledge.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment.
