IT BUSINESS ANALYST – 12 MONTH INTERNSHIP

Job Description
As an Business Information Technology Intern, your ideas will help us deliver innovative technological solutions to our customers. You’ll also be involved with everything from Boeing site tours, to networking events and development opportunities. The intern experience goes beyond your assigned job.

The Business Analyst Intern will be required to engage proactively with business departments to identify and define business requirements, then reach across to the rest of Boeing Defence UK IT resources, wider Boeing teams and external suppliers to deliver solutions. As a part of a small team within a very large enterprise, the role requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. The candidate must be “hands on” in their approach whilst always maintaining a focus on the higher level priorities of the business. The candidate will be working within a matrix management style organisation where it is necessary to motivate and work with people to undertake tasks without having overall authority. The internship will allow the candidate to work in various Information Technology areas within Boeing -> Networks, Infrastructure automation, Software Test, Business Analysis and the internal IT projects. Interns will work under direction of a team lead or a team member to the team they are allocated to. They will be expected to pick up skills and support the teams in the day-to-day running of tasks.

In the Business Analyst role, it is essential to gain the confidence of both business and technical staff and act as the facilitator between both groups of staff. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator able to present ideas and facilitate workshops. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to discuss ideas and concepts with staff of all levels.

BDUK is a diverse business engaged in delivering a variety of support services to clients both directly and via large-scale programmes. As such, the candidate would be expected to analyse requirements and define IT solutions across internal BDUK programmes and supply chain customer programmes for MoD. In additional to business analysis skills the candidate must have an understanding of Information Management and Architecture.

The job will require occasional travel in the UK.

• Undergraduate Student in Business, Economics, Computer Science or associated field preferred

• Comfortable with conducting presentations and running meetings

• Effective written communication skills
