Customs Brokerage Agent
We have an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Customs Brokerage Agent at our Los Angeles LAX location. As a Customs Brokerage Agent you will be responsible for ensuring all US Customs and DHL regulations are met by examining various documents, making complex decisions, and submitting data to US Customs for clearance of shipments destined to the US. You will use several online resources for compliance, as well as tools to do your job.
Job Description:
Examine online commercial invoices and other documents, to determine the correct Harmonized Tariff Code for each commodity to ensure correct classification.
Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding Foreign Trade Agreements, and other duty exemptions.
Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess time management skills.
Process shipments through various online portals for submission to US Customs to obtain proper clearance.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Overtime required
1 year experience in Import Customs Clearance preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with a strong focus on Microsoft Excel), navigation of various data and web-based applications
Good written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
Time Management / Good attendance history
