Project Engineer
Job Description:
This position within in the Refrigeration Division’s Transportation Group is responsible for executing projects focused on new product development and customer support. Projects related to cost reductions and plant support are also possible. This position allows the individual to work closely with customers and internal cross functional teams to release new products and support existing products in the transportation refrigeration and air-conditioning markets.
As a Project Engineer,
Act as a technical project leader for cross functional teams.
Ensure performance and reliability of products through analysis, testing and collaboration with other groups such as reliability, manufacturing and supplier quality.
Collaborate with design engineers to develop designs and release new and modified products.
Use structured problem-solving method to determine root cause and corrective actions to issues.
Perform analytical calculations in areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer and machine design to aid development.
Work as a team with lab technicians to setup and monitor testing.
Present technical details to internal audiences at weekly meetings, technical reviews and at customers as needed.
You keep in touch with customers.
You find ways to manage stress and pressure.
You define issues and can map out a process.
You balance planning with actions.
You dig for root causes of a problem and look for problems.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Prior experience as co-op/intern or extracurricular engineering team.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 1 year of experience.
Prior experience with machine design, thermodynamics, compressors
Experience with MatLab
