Safety and Location Software Engineer – United States

Job Responsibilities:

– Developing software that works in safety-critical environments, and build robust test and verification pipelines to ensure reliability and resiliency

– Understanding product requirements, engaging with team members to define solutions, and estimating the scope of work required

– Working cross-functionally with teams across Engineering to add support for new software features

– Troubleshooting and resolving complex software integration issues

– Architecting and implementing new frameworks and daemons to power new functionality for an upcoming hardware product

– Championing quality software development by following best practices such as regularly participating in code reviews.

Qualifications:

Strong Software Engineering skills including design, systems development (using C, C++), scripting and debugging (Python, Perl, shell, Makefiles)

Experience defining stable APIs/SPIs and solid understanding of system design fundamentals

Excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills

Experience in designing and debugging frameworks and multi-threaded / multi-process systems

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (Graduate Degree is preferred)

Familiarity with basics of RF location estimation is a plus

Familiarity with underlying protocols (NILR/ CP / SUPL / AML / SIP / NextGen 9-1-1 / NG 1-1-2) is a plus

Software Engineering Systems – United States

Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, debugging, and maintaining internal software running on a diverse range of Apple products. Your primary focus will be on silicon validation for Apple’s ground breaking SoC, with opportunities to collaborate with a diverse array of cross- functional teams, including Hardware Engineering, Silicon Engineering, and Software Engineering. You will engage with various products from the early development stages through mass production, where your contributions will directly influence hardware quality and end-user experiences.

Qualifications:

– BS in CS/CE/EE or relevant work experience

Hardware Systems Integration Engineer -United States

Job Description:

In this role you will be designing, prototyping, building, and validating electrical designs throughout our product development cycle, and working with teams across Apple to integrate those designs into Apple WATCH. This includes:

– System electrical design, schematic capture and PCB layout design. Prototype bringup and debugging.

– Functional and performance verification of hardware designs using common EE test equipment (including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).

– Hands-on debugging and failure analysis of manufacturing, design, and reliability issues.

– Factory build support from early NPI through product ramp. Reporting on and presenting status of hardware issues to management and cross-functional forums.

– International travel to support factory builds as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD of Science in Electrical or Computer engineering.

Excellent EE and science fundamentals, along with an understanding in one or more of the following areas: system integration and validation, power electronics and switching power supplies, embedded device communication (GPIO signaling, common interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB), embedded system design, analog design, signal and power integrity, sensor design and integration.

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will be a key player in validating prototype hardware and VisionOS software.
