2023 Apprenticeship in Engineering (UK) – Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering

Our Apprenticeship Programme will allow you to grow and develop as part of our ‘Early Career Hire’ Talent pipeline within our Engineering team, through our Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering. This will provide you with the experience, training and support needed to become an Engineer.

Opportunities for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering apprenticeships are available in our Infrastructure (renewable energy, rail/metro systems, urban developments, airports, highways, etc.) business unit.

Your role as an engineer will be to assist in conceptual designs, studies, reports, and proposals.
Check’s suppliers’ drawings and data for compliance with specifications.
Ensure technical submissions comply with the accepted format and design requirements.
Provide technical engineering input on designs, documentation, and provide appropriate responses.
Assists in detailed development of established design concepts for systems, structures, and equipment.

Coordinates assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
Assists in development and verification of project control documents and status reports.
Supporting the team to deliver safe and affordable design solutions that meet requirements.
Identify and assess design risks within a project.
Attend public consultation and planning forums, working with local communities identifying priorities.
Support Senior Engineers in liaising with external stakeholders, fully capturing their input as part of the project’s technical requirements.

Qualification:

You will be working towards a Level 6 Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Degree
Become a qualified Engineer
Extend your qualifications by taking on further postgraduate study

Join our Chartership Programme to achieve your Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Mechanical Engineers or the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Entry requirements
Must have three A-Levels at Grades A*-C including Mathematics and Physical Science or their equivalent or;
Level 3 in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
