Electrical Craft Team Member
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Craft Team Member to keep our Corby plant running safely, reliably and on time. You will work in a multi-skilled shift team across days, lates and nights Monday to Friday, carrying out planned maintenance and tackling faults at pace to minimise downtime.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete PPM and reactive maintenance on plant electrical systems to a high safety and quality standard
- Fault find on relay control circuits, AC and DC motors and a range of drives to get equipment back online quickly
- Carry out basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7-300, S7-1200 and S7-1500
- Read and work from electrical drawings and update job records in SAP PM or similar CMMS
- Contribute ideas and deliver small improvement tasks that lift reliability and safety
Qualification:
- Apprentice trained or Level 3 qualification such as BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment with strong electrical fault finding skills
- Working knowledge of low voltage systems, motors, drives and safe systems of work
- Comfortable working rotating shifts Monday to Friday as part of a multi-skilled team
18th Edition and basic mechanical awareness are a plus

Technical Services Engineer
- You will play an integral part in supporting our customer base and have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience further
- In this capacity, you will be required to provide technical advice to the end user by designing and scheduling lintels for a full range of UK construction including housing, industrial and commercial projects.
- In this capacity, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Designing and scheduling lintels for a full range of projects to include housing, industrial and commercial throughout the UK.
- Providing technical advice to end users by the provision of schedules and structural calculations.
- Responsibility for understanding current and competitor products and to be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of our current products and drives through improvements on product range.
- Promoting the advantages of the product range both technically and commercially based on sound working knowledge of building technology.
- Ensuring that all work, including those undertaken on the Company’s behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner which fully complies with Tata Steel’s health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
Qualification:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will require a minimum of a HNC qualification in Building, Structures or related subject as well as experience in AutoCAD and building technology to be able to fulfil this role effectively.
You will require both a commercial awareness and technical skills to include the following:
- Understanding of housing and general building design
- Ability to assess structural loads
- CAD Drawing & Design
- Documentation of design processes and changes
- Practical understanding of system performance and installation
- Product knowledge – training provided
- You will need an IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and CLASS(training provided).

Crane Engineer Team Member
The main purpose of this job is to repair and maintain the overhead and jib cranes at the Corby site. You will be part of a two-person team, performing mechanical breakdown support, planned maintenance and inspections across the site; predominantly focussing on engineering support to the crane operations.
- To be successful in this role you will need to have served a practical mechanical apprenticeship to a minimum of City and Guilds level or have a proven track record of practical fitting skills.
- It would be advantageous if you have previous experience with FLT’s, MEWP’s and Overhead Cranes.
Job Requirement:
- A good awareness of health and safety, isolation/immobilization and good housekeeping.
- A good knowledge of general mechanical fitting, with practical experience in bearing assemblies, limits and fits.
- Good communication skills will be required for effective communication with the operations and engineering teams..
- The ability to work under pressure.
- Be self motivated and have the ability to work under their own initiative.
- May be required to provide support to other site engineering departments where required.

We’re currently looking for a Mechanical Craft Team Member to join our Tooling Department at our Corby site. This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll be part of a team that keeps our essential equipment in top condition – playing a vital part in helping us produce steel that’s used across the UK and beyond.
Qualification:
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and a practical, team-focused approach.
- A time-served apprenticeship and an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Solid experience with mechanical fitting, including bearings and gear fitting using induction heaters and presses
- A valid driving licence
- Awareness of COSHH regulations and safe handling of substances
- A strong commitment to safe systems of work
- A good attitude to teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement
