Salesforce plan to hire 5,48,000 new employees in India

The global ERP and data firm, Salesforce has planned to hire 5,48,000 new employees in India. The company believes that India can become the second largest GDP country in near future. The California-based IT firm believes that India can create billions of dollars in incremental GDP.

Salesforce is estimated to have a market capitalisation of $240 billion over the next few years. The tech firm plans to create 5.48 lakh direct and 13 lakh indirect jobs in its direct and partner ecosystem. The company will also train 2.5 lakh students on digital skills.

The company announced its plans at the RAISE Summit 2020. The tech firm aims to have more than 79,000 stakeholders from academia, research and government representatives from 147 countries.

Vala Afshar, chief data evangelist at Salesforce said, “Every 3 seconds a new person in India connects to the internet for the first time. What that means 600 million today will be over a billion unique users connected to the internet perhaps just in the next five years. This also means that India is poised to be the second-largest GDP in the world only behind China and ahead of the US.”

Data will play a key role in creating the AI economy in India. It is the same reason why India can become AI superpower over a few years. The 60 crore unique internet users in India will create enormous opportunities.

Afshar further added that over 80% of India’s population is under 44 years of age, which a real power. The country can expand to tremendous heights with the help of this young workforce.
