Back-end Developer Intern
The intern will be assigned to a sub-team within our Product Engineering support team of z Hardware or the z/OS support team that supports the service structure and serviceability of our mainframe product set. This position will be to help design and execute productivity aids required for the infrastructure. Some programming skills are required and a basic engineering understanding to perform this role. Computer Science skills are highly desired and preferred however an electrical engineering background would also be beneficial. The intern will have the opportunity to experience firsthand what a mainframe customer expects from IBM as well as the technical complexity of this machine.

Job Requirement:
Currently pursuing a quantitative degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, IST, or a related field.
Strong Interpersonal skills that enhance collaboration and relationship building, while also managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment.
Have initiative and passion to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills while embracing a growth mindset to assimilate diverse viewpoints.

Intern 2026: Quantum Network / Security Engineer
Advance the development of quantum computing systems and the datacenter networking infrastructure
Learn new quantum engineering techniques and incorporate those principles into work processes for building the next generation of quantum computers
Participate in corporate events, executive speaker series, and showcase effective time management. Expectation is that the intern will help with network setup, testing and verification. You will also need to be familiar with network monitoring software. Have the ability to gather monitoring data from other hardware components and derive trends from the data.
