Intern – Digital Technology

You’ll work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement.

This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

You’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Interns receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. This support includes a partner from the Swiss office assigned to you to help guide your career as well as formal training in your first few weeks as an intern.

You’ll work in our Zurich or Geneva office as a full-time intern for 12 weeks. You’ll be a part of a client project team, collaborating with colleagues and our clients to solve their toughest business problems. You’ll work on 2-3 consulting projects at the intersection of business and technology. Successful interns may be given a full-time return offer.

Qualification:

Bachelors degree (as of 4th semester) or Master’s degree in progress in a technology-related study field with outstanding record of academic achievement

Previous internship(s), ideally in an area with exposure to technological topics (software engineering, cloud computing, digital transformation, cyber security etc.)

Strong interest to explore the breadth of technology related topics

Excellent organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels

Ability to create work product-focused materials / outputs, which may include PowerPoint decks, Excel models, articles, or other written deliverables

Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment

Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times

Ability to travel to and work in varying environments that may be challenging and/or not accessible (e.g., factories, hospitals, mines)

Fluency in German (for Zurich) or French (for Geneva) and in English are a must

Internship – Operations

We view the fellow intern position as the start of a rewarding, challenging and highly flexible career with McKinsey and the Operations practice.

During your 8-12 weeks internship, you will serve as a junior consultant on client engagements and work with a number of colleagues and clients in a range of industry and operations service lines. You will acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise to help companies achieve excellence in their operations. You will play an active role in problem solving for clients including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing, conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. You’ll be based in one of our European offices as part of the Operations Practice, which blends strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to help clients achieve operational excellence.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic record; in process of obtaining a master’s degree

Initial experience in working on an operational topic (e.g. product development, supply chain, purchasing, lean services, manufacturing, etc.)

Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities

Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

Mobility and enthusiasm for taking on longer, international assignments

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and local office language

Business Analyst Intern – McKinsey Digital

You’ll work in teams of typically 3 – 5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement.
This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

This Business Analyst Intern position will you first-hand experience with consulting at McKinsey. At the end of the internship, you may receive an offer to join us as a full-time Business Analyst after graduation.
You will join as a business analyst intern in our Paris office and will be part of McKinsey Digital for 6 months to be a part of our client teams.

Qualification:

Enrolled in a master’s degree
Outstanding record of academic achievement
Currently enrolled in a Master Grande Ecole, Master of Engineering or MSc program in computer science, telecommunications, or other engineering/technical related field preferred
Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
Strong record of initiative-taking and leadership in a work setting and/or extracurricular activities
Resourceful, intellectually curious, high energy and mature
Fluent in French and in English
