Configuration Management Engineer (Entry-Level/Associate)

The Boeing Company is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer (Entry-Level or Associate) to support the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Air Dominance programs in St. Louis, MO.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing configuration planning, identification, change control, tracking, and verification, and facilitating program baseline management.

Job Responsibilities:

Review prime contract and supplier contract configuration management requirements.

Interpret configuration management plans and processes.

Assign and maintain product and document identification.

Evaluate and coordinate proposed engineering changes.

Prepare change control documents such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), Change Documents/Change Requests (CD/CRs), Conduct program Change Control Boards (CCB), support configuration audits, generate configuration status reports, and others.

Collaborate with fellow configuration management engineers on configuration management principles and job practices.

Collaborate with customers.

Engage in program planning.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.

1+ year using Excel to perform data analysis.

1+ year editing PDF and Word files.

Preferred:

2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

1+ year of experience in engineering.

Experience with Change Management.

Ability to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal networks; an understanding of the cultures of organizations and ability to apply this information in a way that strengthens the organization’s strategic plan and profitability.

Coordinate responses to customer inquiries for transportation requirements and facilitates delivery problem resolution

Job Responsibilities:

Work with internal and external customers to define and document instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning, including acquisition, processing, and analysis, to satisfy test objectives

Coordinate with flight and ground test personnel to develop, update, maintain, and configuration control real-time displays required for real-time data analysis and mission control

Design, develop, and implement complex calculations in support of test objectives

Work with the flight test software team to ensure existing custom flight test processing software will meet requirements for test, and define requirements and test any new required software or algorithms

Maintain and update aircraft data processing database with test specific information

Verify the necessary parameters for a test are operational, recorded, and/or telemetered

Support the conduct and execution of the test program, including real-time test coverage and data monitoring

Request, process, analyze, release, and distribute final test data

Analyze final data for quality, identify and correct anomalies prior to release to data customers

Qualifications:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Structures Stress Engineer – Entry Level

This is a great opportunity to work in the Commercial Airplanes Washington Design Center, as a Structures Stress Analysis Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform structural, systems, or interior analysis using well defined analysis tools Support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals

Define and document certification and test results to substantiate compliance to customers’ and regulatory agencies’ (FAA, EASA, and other national agencies) requirements

Support production and provide technical solutions, including involvement in factory build, test and associated troubleshooting

Help develop new materials, methods, tools, and designs to support future programs

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in one of the following engineering majors: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Material Science (with composite focus), and select Structures degrees

Preferred:

Demonstrate engineering knowledge as a level 1 engineer either from team projects, internship(s), or job experience. Structural or aerospace knowledge a plus

Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice – England

This 28-month Programme is aimed at developing highly motivated individuals into professional Aircraft Engineers to assist in the delivery of a world-class engineering maintenance operation across our various sites within the UK.

During this programme successful candidates will learn about and get practical hands on experience of maintaining aircraft on either fixed wing or rotary platforms such as the Chinook, Apache, P-8A, E-7 Wedgetail or C-17 Globemaster.

The chosen candidates will study towards their Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge Qualification, as well as a Level 2 and 3 Development Competence Qualification in Aircraft Maintenance and other specialist training. During the apprenticeship, candidates will be trained in all disciplines; airframe, propulsion and avionics.

Tasks you will carry out:

Perform routine scheduled aircraft maintenance.

Perform unscheduled defect rectification.

Perform aircraft modifications.

Use and follow approved maintenance documentation.

Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Work to given time scales.

Work alongside skilled engineers to provide you with the knowledge needed to become fully trained.

You will also be expected to respond quickly to changing demands throughout your working day.
