Inventory Analyst

Searches for trends and identifies problems in the inventory control and develops inventory metrics. Determines root cause of problems using six sigma problem solving methodology. Develops corrective action plans and revises metrics as necessary. Monitors corrective action plan results. Pursues ongoing system improvements, evaluating new technology as potential solutions to existing problems. Facilitates change management for the inventory control process and serves as subject matter expert for SAP modules.

Job Description:
Researches, analyzes and documents the various inventory data, setting up metrics to evaluate and interpret trends using six sigma methodologies.
Develops a process to determine the type of inventory audit needed to improve inventory integrity.
Analyzes inventory count results identifying problem areas, root cause analysis of problem and suggests corrective action plans.
Performs on-going parts statistical sampling audits.
Develops a corrective action process for inbound parts with a high receipt error rate, as well as perform analysis of PD5 reported errors identifying parts packaging problems implementing corrective actions to include communication to problem suppliers.
Participates in department and cross-functional process improvement teams.
Documents best practices and lessons learned to enable sharing throughout the division.
SAP modules (PP, MES and LES)

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
Investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents.
Working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Statistical analysis knowledge.
Knowledge of a limited set of business processes of assigned area(s) and/or function(s).
Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.
