Data Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems.
Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data insights visually in a meaningful way.
Define and manage Service Level Agreements for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements, confirm safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes within allocated areas of ownership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
Requires completion of one undergraduate-level course, one research project, or one internship involving the following
Features, design, and use-case scenarios across a big data ecosystem
Custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
Object-oriented programming languages
Schema design and dimensional data modeling
Writing SQL statements
Analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps, and inconsistencies
Managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
MapReduce or MPP system
Python
Working closely with ML engineers, and experimentation at scale
ML architectures (deep learning) and ways to improve model performance (feature engineering, hyperparameter optimization, large models)

Data Engineer, Product Analytics
Job Responsibilities
Manage and execute data warehouse plans for a product or a group of products to solve well-scoped problems.
Identify the data needed for a business problem and implement logging required to ensure availability of data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data insights in a meaningful way.
Build data expertise and leverage data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operations for allocated areas of ownership.
Design, build and launch new data models and visualizations in production, leveraging common development toolkits.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Requires education and/or experience in each of the following:
1. SQL
2. ETL
3. Data modeling
4. Schema design and dimensional data modeling
5. Programming languages: Python, C++, C#, and/or Scala

Software Engineer (University Grad) – Bangalore
Job Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems
Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering
Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks
Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgement and problem solving skills
Master Meta’s development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity
Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with Meta’s Performance Philosophy
Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, JavaScript)
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
