Software Engineer, Intern/Co-op

Meta is seeking Software Engineer Interns to join our engineering team. As a Software Engineer at Meta, you’ll drive the development of the systems behind Meta’s products, create web applications that reach billions of people, build high volume servers and be a part of a team that’s working to help people connect with each other around the globe.

This internship/co-op has a minimum twelve (12) week duration.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and push production-ready code by quickly ramping on assigned codebase, product area, and/or system
Complete assigned tasks efficiently with few iterations
Identify problem statements, outline optimal solutions, account for tradeoffs and edge cases
Communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field
Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, Objective-C, JavaScript)
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated software engineering experience from a previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op

Offensive Security Engineer, Intern

Job Responsibilities:

Perform security assessments consisting of vulnerability research and exploitation against both the unique systems and technologies used at Meta, as well as approved 3rd party software and vendors.
Research, develop, and execute adversary TTPs across the range of the attack lifecycle.
Provide threat-based guidance and education to the overall security organization through offensive security with audiences including business and technical leaders, and software engineers.

Qualifications:

Must be in the process of obtaining a BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Experience in high level scripting, coding or visualization
Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities and bypassing security controls
Familiarity in one or more of the following areas in security – Network security, Web, desktop and/or mobile application security, source code review, fuzzing and/or analysis, reverse engineering, exploit development and/or vulnerability research
Familiarity of the attack lifecycle, and offensive security concepts in at least one of Red Team operations, Purple Team engagements, Vulnerability Research, and/or Exploitation

Security Engineer Intern, Identity & Access Management

The Security Engineer Intern will be responsible for identifying and enforcing solutions to control access to internal systems. An ideal candidate is someone that has technical knowledge of the broad aspects of information security, and is able to identify deficiencies in the access management space. This role suits someone with an interest or understanding of the IAM concepts that can be applied to our internal IAM solutions. The position requires a basic understanding of security principles, complemented by technical, coding and communication skills coupled with a strong desire to learn.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field
Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Python, C++, PHP, Java)
Interest in assessing security deficiencies in first-party/internal information systems and recommending mitigating controls
Interest in evaluating systems architectural designs, data-flow diagrams and technical security implementations, particularly in context of access management in different geographical locations
Interest in developing security reporting and recommendations that are meaningful, defensible and actionable
Ability to manage competing priorities and simultaneous projects in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills: both written and verbal, interpersonal skills, and ability to work cross-functionally with various teams
